‘I’m honoured to be a part of this inspired new Poetry In Aldeburgh where the door is wide open for experimentation and change,' says Jacqueline. 'I’m delighted to invite two poets whom I admire for their poetry but also their fabulous readings. Music and poetry work brilliantly together, so I’m particularly happy to be given the opportunity to mix them up for this themed event exploring town and country at the festival on this wild part of the English coast.’

Annie Freud is an award-winning poet and artist. She has published three collections of poetry with Picador: The Best Man that Ever Was, The Mirabelles and The Remains. She teaches poetry composition and is well known for her live performances.
Jean Atkin has published Not Lost Since Last Time (Oversteps Books) and five poetry pamphlets. She works as a poet on education and community projects and residencies and she tutors for Arvon.
Jacqueline Saphra’s The Kitchen of Lovely Contraptions (flipped eye) was nominated for the Aldeburgh First Collection Prize. If I Lay on my Back I Saw Nothing but Naked Women (Emma Press) won the Saboteur Award for Best Collaborative Work. All My Mad Mothers is due from Nine Arches Press in 2017.
Ethan Saphra, a graduate of The BRIT School, is singer/songwriter who writes in many styles, both for himself and for bands and other artists.
