Thank You!

To all who came to Poetry in Aldeburgh - a huge Thank You!

It was your goodwill, participation and collaboration that made it such a wonderful weekend.

Gathered here are just a few of the comments we've had. It's so valuable to get your feedback so keep it coming!

“it was marvellous to hear Tom Paulin in the flesh”

"the whole atmosphere of the festival was outstanding"

"...wonderful to be in the town of Aldeburgh - my first experience of that and infinitely preferable to Snape. The community’s goodwill was palpable”

"High Wire Act started Saturday morning with real éclat and everybody was beaming at the end.

They put together their programme beautifully…”

"The John Clare lecture was very interesting … I loved thinking about a great writer from an earlier time in the midst of today’s voices. Please do that again in whatever way”

"The Art and the Verse Speaking workshops were of exceptional quality. The Verse Speaking session could easily have been extended or been one of a series.”

"The Gimlet Bar cocktails and mocktails were YUMMY”

‘The atmosphere was warm, buzzy, convivial, energised - you've done such a fantastic job in creating an event which, while it continued the tradition of poetry in Aldeburgh, clearly has its own brilliantly creative spirit. It was truly a privilege to be able to perform as part of the weekend's programme, and I do hope we can look forward to another such festival in the future (if that doesn't seem too hasty a thing to say as you just begin to recover from all this year's extremely hard work)!”

“I very much enjoyed the whole Festival, it was a great line-up.”

“There were some remarkable highlights, and I was particularly proud of Paul Stephenson’s reading, which reduced me to tears most unexpectedly.”

“I just wanted to write and say how much I enjoyed the festival and how much all four of us loved reading! Thanks for having us! ...but suffice to say that I was very proud to be a part of the Poetry in Aldeburgh!”

“I think it was the most memorable Aldeburgh I've attended.”

“Poetry in Aldeburgh was a triumph, start to finish. Such a buzz, such talent and hard work, such a creative atmosphere. Thanks for all your efforts”

“Thank you is not strong enough to say to you for bringing this event back in such a brilliant way. I walked into Jubilee Hall yesterday and felt at home. Everyone was pleased to be together. I did not go with anyone and did not expect to meet anyone I knew but in 20 minutes before and after the 4 Letterpress Poets, I had made friends. We were all saying the same thing. Starting small is perfect.”

“great success and superbly organised.”
